Synergistic interaction between Bambusa arundinacea and Euphorbia hirta leaf extract on antioxidant, antiglycation and DNA protective properties.

Oxidative stress and enhanced non-enzymatic protein glycation result in the pathogenesis of various disorders humans, including diabetes mellitus. This study examined synergistic action Bambusa arundinacea with Euphorbia hirta leaf extract for anti-oxidant potential, antiglycation effect on fructose-mediated proteins, DNA-protective properties. The methanolic shows significantly (P<0.01) higher total phenolic flavonoid content when compared ethyl acetate hexane both plants. combined (CME) plants exhibits antioxidant as indicated by lower IC50 values obtained DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) radical scavenging activity (4.82 μg/ml) NO (nitric oxide) (3.94 stronger Trolox equivalent capacity to B. E. individually. analysis revealed that CME is more potent inhibit human serum albumin (HSA) at early middle stages. In addition this, effectively inhibits late phase, which was confirmed declining fluorescence intensity. Furthermore, a high degree positive correlation between capacities through Pearson’s coefficient. results also demonstrated displays protecting DNA from oxidative damage preventing formation DNA.
